Q. Why is there often a large difference in the price of glasses?

Q. Are all progressive lenses the same?

A. Definitely not. Be careful not to simply buy the cheapest progressive advertised as it will often be an older design and more basic level of technology which may not give the best vision. Talk to your eye care professional to find out which progressive lens design is best for your eyes and lifestyle.

Some of these new generation are even custom designed for each wearer based on their prescription and the frame they are to be worn in. Other factors to consider are getting lenses made from stronger and lighter material which means the finished lens will be thinner making it more aesthetically pleasing as well as lighter and less noticeable to the wearer, and the quality of the coating in terms of hardness and scratch/smudge resistance.
