Polarized Lenses

These lenses have an extra filter built into the tint which cuts the glare and sharpens focus. They protect against cataracts and macular degeneration, the most common cause of vision loss in people over 65. If you spend a lot of time driving, out in the sun, on the water or snow, talk to us about Polarized lenses. 

Transition Lenses

These lenses adjust and change tint according to the surrounding levels of light. They are ideal for people who don't want to change glasses as they move from indoors to outside, or people who work near a window and are bothered by the glare. They provide the convenience of one pair of glasses and are available with any time of lens coating.

Progressive Lenses

This is the modern, improved version of bifocals and is ideal for people who require more than one prescription for different distances. They allow the wearer to have several prescriptions in one lens, eliminating the need to change glasses for reading, computer use, and distance vision.

Bifocal Lenses

These lenses are still available, but they are old technology (that is, they were created before computers were in common use and people needed a prescription mid-range between reading and distance use). We recommend clients come in and talk to us about Progressive lenses.

Enhanced Readers

This is the latest alternative to reading glasses. Traditional reading glasses allow for one point of focus, while these lenses provide a much greater range of vision. They are perfect for people who use glasses to read, and don't want to have to take them off every time they look up (for example, cooking in the kitchen with a cookbook and needing to see your workspace without removing your glasses). They're really for any near task, not just reading.

Single Focus Lenses

As the name implies, these are lenses that have a single focus, for people who need just one prescription in their lens.

Thin and Light Lenses

Traditionally, as a prescription became stronger, the lens became thicker. We now have a variety of different types of modern materials to make your lenses thin and light, improving comfort and appearance.

Lens Coatings

All of our Advanced lenses have an anti-reflective coating to minimise light reflecting off the lens - great for night driving and computer use. As well, all of our plastic lenses come with a super hard coat to minimise the possibility of scratching.
